Psychologist Nadejda Kachlakeva charged with practicing on stolen license

Nadejda Kachlakeva was criminally charged with grand theft, impersonating someone and receiving their property, forging a state seal on a fraudulent license and other charges. Kachlakeva had worked as a counselor for the counties of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo (California) and as a psychologist in private practice but had been doing so by using the license information of a therapist who worked across the hall from her for several years. Reports state that she used the license number belonging to a marriage and family therapist named Dale Lewis in order to do contract work for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. She posted bail and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for January 14, 2009.
