Counselor Lauren F. Robbins suspended for misappropriation of patient funds

January 4, 2013

On July 27, 2012, the Washington Department of Health (DoH) suspended indefinitely counselor Lauren Frances Robbins for unprofessional conduct.

The DoH’s document states that from March to November 2010, while employed at Western State Hospital in Steilacoom, Washington, Robbins misappropriated over $500 from the accounts of four different patients there.

Robbins admitted to Western State officials that she was addicted to the drug Suboxone and that she’s taken the money to pay for the drug.

In March 2011, she entered into a contract with Washington Health Professional Services but by December 2011 was referred back to the program for relapsing and misusing alcohol.
