State board charges Valley psychiatrist Marc Graff with gross negligence

On August 30, 2012, the Medical Board of California issued and Accusation against psychiatrist Marc Graff, of Reseda, California for gross negligence, repeated negligent acts, excessive prescribing, prescribing to an addict and unprofessional conduct. The Board’s document details Graff’s prescribing to a patient with a known dependency on a controlled substance. For example, the document states that he prescribed 900 lorazepam 1 mg tablets on November 5, 2010 and then another 100 lorazepam 5 mg tablets on November 18, 2010. On December 9, 2010, he prescribed the patient 100 diazepam 5 mg tablets, another 200 diazepam 5 mg tablets on December 30, 2010 and another 300 diazepam 5 mg tablets on January 14, 2011, among other instances.
