French psychiatrist Serge Rodallec sentenced to 13 years prison for raping patient

On May 19, 2012, psychiatrist Serge Rodallec, of Brest, France, was sentenced by the Assize Court of Appeal of Rennes to 13 years in prison for raping one of his young patients. The offense occurred in late 1999 or early 2000, as the patient’s family filed their complaint in January 2000. However, Rodallec disappeared and spent several years as a fugitive, until he was captured in Thailand in January 2010. Rodellac is also banned from practicing medicine and must register as a sex offender.
