October 2012 Texas disciplinary actions on mental health counselors

On October 26, 2012, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors took the following disciplinary actions:

Placed James Bangert on probated suspension for three years for engaging in unethical conduct by billing for services not rendered which resulted in conviction of a felony, as well as failure to notify the Board within 30 days of the felony conviction.

Assessed an administrative penalty on Linda Cash for failure to release a copy of a client’s treatment records to the client’s father.

Placed Eleazor Cano on probated suspension for two years for failure to set and maintain professional boundaries by engaging in a dual relationship with clients and failure to cooperate with the Board by failure to respond to a Department investigator and failure to furnish documents and information requested by the Board.

Revoked Laura Walker's license for failure to set and maintain professional boundaries by entering into a dual/sexual relationship with a client; failure to keep accurate client records and failure to keep her Board file updated.
