Clinical social worker Heather Wuthrich surrenders license for confidentiality complaint

On August 3, 2012, clinical social worker Heather Wuthrich surrendered her license to the North Carolina Social Work Certification & Licensure Board.

According to the Board’s document, Wuthrich was the subject of an ethical complaint received by the board in 2010.

The Board’s document states that, among other things, Wuthrich instituted online group forums for clients, led in-person group outings on two occasions and did not adequately address clients’ confidentiality protections in public and internet interactions.

Further, the document states that from time to time, Wuthrich blurred professional and social boundaries with clients.
