California psychiatrist surrenders his license

July 13, 2017

Dr. Michael Vivian, a psychiatrist in California, surrendered his medical license after being accused of violating his medical probation.

In February 2016, his license was placed on probation for five years after he was accused of using amphetamines in his office, including a 2014 incident when he was allegedly found passed out. Near the end of 2016, he was accused of violating his probation by failing to undergo the required biological testing.  The board also accused him of using amphetamine tables in June 2016.

In three years, he will be able to petition to get his license back.
