Married psychologist in Scotland loses license for inappropriate sexual relationship with patient

August 14, 2017

Psychologist Markus Themessl-Huber, who is both married and father, has had his license revoked after he arranged for a patient to be discharged from his care so they could have sex during working hours.  Prior to her discharge at the end of 2015, they exchanged hundreds of raunchy emails.  He was working as a clinical psychologist at NHS Tayside during the affair.

Themessl-Huber admitted five charges including engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with the woman, sending personal email messages of a sexual nature and giving her gifts, and submitting five false timesheets between January 7 and 20, 2016 while meeting the patient.
