Brisbane psychologist accused of sexually assaulting three female patients

January 30, 2018

Just released on bail, 62-year-old psychologist Pieter Jozua Rossouw will answer charges of aggravated sexual assault at a Sydney (Australia) court on February 5. Accused of sexually assaulting three female patients during appointments, he was arrested earlier this month. It is alleged that he repeatedly assaulted a 17-year-old female patient while he was working as a private psychologist in 2004 and that he assaulted two other women in 2009.

Rossouw is listed as a director and presenter at Mediros Clinical Solutions and two other companies that provide training and conduct research into neuropsychotherapy. He is also listed as professor of education at Central Queensland University. He is now facing a 20-year prison sentence, the maximum penalty.

Police prosecutor Matt Kahler told the court "The victims at the time were very distraught. They trusted him and he abused that trust."
