Michigan Psychiatrist Hanumaiah Bandla Accused of Failing to Report Abuse at Mental Health Facility

Livonia, MI - Staff psychiatrist Hanumaiah Bandla is accused of failing to report abuse at the mental health facility where he worked. Bandla is amongnst six employees of a mental health facility in Livonia facing charges in connection with the alleged abuse and cover-up of injuries suffered by patients.
 
The facility is operated by Hegira Programs. Charges facing those accused in the case include assault with intent to do great bodily harm by strangulation; third-degree vulnerable adult abuse; failure to report abuse of a mental health recipient; and assault and battery of a vulnerable adult, said Hegira Programs CEO in a statement.
 
Hegira also stated: The individuals in question were terminated as soon as we learned of the incidents in question, and we are fully cooperating with police as their investigation progresses.
