New Jersey Psychiatrist Henry Odunlami Reprimanded for Hugging, Kissing Patient

On May 26, 2016, the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners issued an official order on psychiatrist Henry Odunlami, reprimanding him and requiring him to undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation.

According to the Board's order, Odunlami, who owns and operates the businesses Access Center Behavioral Health Network and GenPsych in Bridgewater, New Jersey, treated patient "R.K." from 2006 through 2011, During an appearance befor the Board to discuss his care of R.K., Odunlami admitted that, on two occasions in 2011, he hugged and kissed the patient.  

Following this, the patient was transferred to another doctor at GenPsych and Odunlawi testified that he had no further contact with her. 

In addition to the reprimand and requirment to submit to psycho-sexual evaluation, Odunlami must complete and ethics course, and pay a civil penalty of $10,000  to the Board.
