Washington School Psychologist Aaron Myers Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

A former Enumclaw School District (Washington State) psychologist has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Aaron Myers, 46, was arrested by the Washington State Patrol at his Bonney Lake residence on Dec. 3, 2020. Shortly after his arrest, he resigned his position at Black Diamond Elementary and Sunrise Elementary. Myers worked for the district for 14 years.

Charges against Myers were finally filed Feb. 17 — he is being charged with four counts of possessing matter of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

According to the official charging statement, officers searched Myers’ home the day of his arrest.

“He admitted that he downloaded, viewed and deleted sexually explicit images of children,” court documents read. “The defendant initially claimed the download was an accident… during the interview, police found child porn was also on the defendant’s cell phone. He was confronted about this and denied there were images on his phone”

More than 2,500 images and 230 videos of child porn were allegedly found on Myers’ various devices, several of which involved not just minors, but toddlers and infants. None of the images or videos were of local children.

“We have again confirmed with the lead investigator on this case, the charges do not involve students of the Enumclaw School District and there is no evidence or additional information to indicate otherwise,” said district public information officer Jessica McCartney.

Along with the images and video, officers allegedly found a list of myriad search terms used to locate the images and video.

Possession of child porn is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $20,000.

Myers was arraigned March 3; he was released on his own personal recognizance.
