Pennsylvania Medical Board revokes psychologist Bruce Fechnay’s license for sex with a patient

On July 2, 2007, the Pennsylvania Board of Psychology revoked psychologist Bruce L. Fechnay’s license based on findings he engaged in sexual intimacies with a patient; exploited his professional relationship with a client; failed to maintain high standards of professional competence; failed to recognize the boundaries and limitations of his competence; engaged in dual relationship with a client; engaged in sexual harassment of a client and/or patient; failed to meet APA Ethical Standards; failed to meet the board’s minimum requirements for the maintenance of professional records and failed to maintain professional records; and engaged in immoral or unprofessional conduct.1
