Psychiatrist Peter Quintieri costs state $70K over sex toy shenanigans

A social worker at New Jersey's Ancora Psychiatric Hospital who filed a lawsuit after a hospital psychiatrist allegedly asked her to demonstrate a sex aid while being videoed has received a $70,000 settlement from the state.

Social worker Frances Vadas, of Tuckerton, was suspended from her job in June 2009 and the state began proceedings to fire her, the report said, citing New Jersey officials who declined to identify the reason for the suspension. Vadas has appealed her dismissal, the report said.

Vadas filed suit against Ancora and psychiatrist Peter E. Quintieri, arguing that her suspension came after she reported Quintieri asked her to demonstrate the "Love Seat," a sex toy Quinteiri sells through a website as a side business, the report said. Quintieri and New Jersey officials admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement, which was reached in February, the report said.
