Psychologist Philip Nastasee agrees to not perform any custody evaluations

December 17, 2012

On December 17, 2012, the Pennsylvania Department of State accepted the agreement of psychologist Philip A. Nastasee that he will not perform any court-appointed or non-court-appointed child custody evaluations at any time following issuance of the Board of Psychology’s order in the matter. His license will also be placed on probation for no less than six months. Among other things, Nastasee failed to base the opinions contained in his report on information sufficient to substantiate his findings and failed to focus his custody evaluation on parenting attributes.

This does not surprise me one bit. Back in 2006/2007 Nastasee was elected to handle re-unification therapy for my daughter. My daughter had been alienated from me due to her mother and the mother recruited the help of her counsel. Nastasse told me the mother's counsel is known to have a "history" of interfering with parent/child relationships. Two days after hiring counsel, the mother was calling my health care for lists of psycological providers for a child that never needed psycological help. I had no idea this was going on until Blue Cross sent the list to my house by mistake. Nastasse shared with me that there was no doubt in his mind my daughter had seen a mental healthcare professional prior to seeing him. I was like "OK". Let's fix what they have destroyed. Nastasee was to write periodic reports to the court regarding the reunification process. He was also to write a progress reports associated with re-establishing visitation and tasked with setting up a visitation schedule. He did nothing other then ask for his weekly check from me. When I started to question him on the progress reports and visitation schedule his comment to me was "there was only so much he was willing to do or say due to the political circles in Lehigh County". I later found out he was a regular at my exwife's attorney yearly Christmas Party and other social events. The only report he wrote to the court was so far off base and lacked any foundation that two other psycologists thought it was complete garbage. Go see Dr. Ronald Esteve, he's the best!
