Former Trails Carolina and Solstice East Patients Files Suit Alleging Abuse, Neglect, Forced Labor

A new federal complaint filed by four young adults includes 10 causes of action that allege lasting harm from their time at the North Carolina residential youth programs Trails Carolina and Solstice East.
The federal civil complaint is filed against Wilderness Training & Consulting LLC, the managing organization who also does business as Family Health & Wellness. It managed the former Trails Carolina location, Solstice East and several other entities that promised therapeutic services in North Carolina.
The complaint claims the actions arise out of the “systematic abuse, neglect, exploitation and forced labor of the Plaintiffs at a corporate-controlled residential facility that had promised to provide the vulnerable minors with therapeutic treatment.”
