Tokyo Psychiatrist Jun Izawa Arrested on Charge of Sexual Assault of Female Patient

The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a psychiatrist who runs a clinic in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward on suspicion of sexually assaulting a patient, sources said Wednesday.

The 55-year-old suspect, Jun Izawa, allegedly assaulted the patient — a woman in her 20s — on the afternoon of Aug. 8, 2025, in an examination room at a clinic he runs in Shinjuku Ward’s Kabukicho area called Tokyo Clinic. He is remaining silent.
