UK Court Dismisses Testimony of "Expert" Psychologist Melanie Gill

UK psychologist Melanie Gill has had her court evidence dismissed in a landmark ruling after a High Court judge found her assessments unreliable.

Gill, who has been paid tens of thousands of pounds to provide expert testimony in over 150 family court cases, was accused of using the discredited concept of “parental alienation” to justify removing children from their mothers. In the recent case, the court ruled that Gill’s report—used to separate a mother from her two daughters—was based on a “mistaken foundation.”
