Unidentified Brisbane Psychologist Suspended following Domestic Violence Conviction
June 11, 2026
A former Brisbane, Australia psychologist has been removed from the profession after a tribunal found he engaged in serious criminal conduct, including threatening his former partner and her family with a knife. The incident occurred in 2022 while he was registered as a provisional psychologist and employed in a role serving vulnerable patients. He later pleaded guilty to threatening violence and breaching a domestic violence order.
The Queensland Civil & Administrative Tribunal's official document identifies the psychologist only as "PFO."
he tribunal also heard evidence of additional domestic violence-related offenses and convictions, including sending alarming text messages containing homicidal and suicidal statements to a police officer involved in a domestic violence prevention program. The psychologist had a history of domestic violence offending and admitted to multiple breaches of court-imposed conditions, including removing an electronic monitoring device.
The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal concluded that his conduct fell far below the standards expected of a psychologist and was incompatible with professional practice. Citing the seriousness of the offenses, the presence of children during the knife incident, and his failure to fully accept responsibility, the tribunal cancelled his registration and prohibited him from seeking reinstatement for six months.
