Michigan Psychiatrist Kameron R. Budhram Gets License Suspended for Criminal Sex and Assault Convictions; Registers as Sex Offender
July 15, 2025
On October 3, 2024, the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing (Bureau) suspended the medical license of psychiatrist Kameron Ravindra Budhram based on his having been convicted of assault and a sex-related crime.
This conviction was based on Budhram’s actions toward a female colleague during the time when both involved in the same medical residency program.
According to the Bureau’s document:
On or about April 12, 2022, Budhram was spending time with victim LH (initials used to protect identity) at LH’s residence in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. At the time, Budhram and LH were both participating in the same residency program at Detroit Wayne County Health Authority’s Graduate Medical Education.
During the early morning hours of April 12, 2022, Budhram became sexually aggressive to LH. He pushed LH into her bedroom, onto her bed, removed her pants, and against her will, forced his fingers into LH’s vagina. Budhram next placed his hand on LH’s throat, then over her mouth, preventing LH from breathing. Budhram then forced his penis into LH’s mouth.
Subsequently, LH reported Budhram’s conduct to the Grosse Pointe Police Department.
During an interview with Grosse Point Detective Narduzzi on April 12, 2022 at 7:00a.m., Budhram admitted to the above referenced conduct.
On May 10, 2023 in the Third Circuit Court (Detroit, MI), Budhram pleaded no contest and was convicted of one count of Misdemeanor Assault With Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Fourth Degree (Force or Coercion). He was sentenced to five year’s probation, $4,674 in fees (for the cost of probation monitoring). Budhram was also required to register as a sex offender.
The Bureau suspended Budhram's medical license for six months and fined him $10,000.
