Michigan Psychologist Lindsey Nicole Dollar Suspended for Sex with Former Patient; Gave Birth to Baby

On September 26, 2024, the Michigan Board of Psychology suspended the license of Plymouth, Michigan psychologist Lindsey Dollar, for violation of general duty, consisting of negligence or failure to exercise due care, whether or not injury results, or any conduct, practice, or condition that impairs or may impair the ability to safely and skillfully engage in the practice of the health profession. Additionally, she was cited for demonstrating a lack of good moral character as well as unprofessional conduct, consisting of betrayal of a professional confidence due to having undertaken a sexual relationship with a patient.

Dollar practiced as a therapist at Transformational Choices in Plymouth. Dollar treated patient SH from October 2021 until June 2022, when SH switched to another provider. Dollar and SH stayed in contact through text messages after the therapeutic relationship ended.

In January of 2023, they began a dating relationship. In or about April 2023, Dollar became pregnant with SH’s child. In November 2023 they began living together.

On January 4, 2024, Dollar gave birth to her and SH’s child.

On January 17, 2024, Transformational Choices terminated Dollar’s employment due to her conduct with SH.
